On Cultural Difference of QEEG Normative database

1. According to the following excerpt from "Getting started with EEG Neurofeedback by John N. Demo" 2nd Ed, 2018, pp.41, which is used as a textbook for QEEG users, the Quantitative EEG (QEEG) database of normal people reports that there are no differences by race in Barbados (an island in the tropical Caribbean region), including China, Cuba, Germany, Japan, Korea, Mexico, the Netherlands, and the United States, as noted below.

2. The world's first quantitative EEG normative database was created in 1973 by M. Matousek and I. Peterson in Sweden with EEG data from 342 pediatric patients. In 1980, R. John of New York University compared the results with measurements of 306 American children and reported in Science that the EEG development curves in Sweden and the United States were consistent. (John et al., 1980)
3. After no significant differences were found in Swedish and US children, it was determined that black children in Barbados with normal functioning also had values consistent with Swedish and US measurements. The EEG development curve was also found to be consistent in Cuban children.(Alvarez, Valdes, & Pascual, 1987)
4. In 1999, Department of Neurology, University of Illinois College of Medicine John. Hughes and Roy John, Department of Psychiatry, New York University, wrote in a position paper the following about the normal human DB used in quantitative EEG, noting that the results of over 500 very well-designed EEG and quantitative EEG studies over a 10-year period at the time were showing very consistent results.(Hughes & John, 1999)

5. The above is cited again in a paper (Congedo & Lubar, 2003) comparing quantitative EEG normative databases.
